#1144 - Coach Job Description

Piute School District Coaches will adhere to the following:

1. Design game plans and assign positions.
2. Prepare and condition athletes.
3. Understand rules and regulations of sport coaching.
4. Manage sport budgets and spend funds responsibly.
5. Manage fundraising and promotional efforts.
6. Understand aspects of health, exercise science and physical education.
7. Mentor students off as well as on the field, encouraging leadership skills and academic success.
8. Conduct parent meetings as needed to establish expectations, resolve concerns, and motivate student athletes.
9. Maintain professional decorum while coaching.
10. Request buses for all away games.
11. Work with the Athletic Director to organize for home events.
12. Promote student athlete respect, sportsmanship, and life skills.
13. Maintain supervision of student athletes for all home, away and overnight events.
14. Follow all UHSAA guidelines and requirements.
15. Update Register My Coach every year for each coached sport, completing all necessary requirements.
16. Complete all other duties assigned by the principal or athletic director.
